Marcella and I deliberated for many months about Happy's Java should become.  We talked to our friends, consultants and professionals who have been helping us develop our company and it's mission.  The central theme came down to people: the customer, families, friends and associate - but we wanted to delve deeper.  Realizing the defining characteristic of the internet, and the one we admire most is its ability to bring people together.  And so began our vision of Happy's Java as a "passport" to the world of coffee and into the lives of the people who inhabit it.  By bringing the coffee farmers, pickers, roasters and their families to you through Happy's Java, we'll show you who really put the coffee in your band and how they do it.  We have made it our mission to improve the taste, imagination, travel lust and economic standing of people in our little "dot com" circle. 

Jut how we will do that is a task far larger in scope than we ever dreamed.  For you, our customers we will continue to provide the highest quality coffee possible.  We will search the globe for the highest quality coffee beans.  Through our commitment to the Fair Trade and Organic Coffee , we will link your enjoyment of coffee with the fate of the very workers who are making better coffee possible.  By buying from our newly expanded offering of Fair Trade Coffee, your first sip of the morning or last Cappuccino of the evening will enrich not only your life, but the lives of others. 

Our goal is to package and ship your coffee to you at it's peak flavor within 24 hours of receiving your order.  Our Passport concept will offer long-time customers rewards for their loyalty.  As we travel the world, so will you!  By including regional descriptions and pictures, we will bring our customers the opportunity to learn more about coffee and what makes each one taste so great.

In keeping with our new approach, we will institute fair, everyday pricing in many cases lower than our previous sale prices.  When we put coffee on sale, the value will be tremendous!  We will maintain our policy of giving away a free pound of coffee with every ten pounds purchased.  We will also include free shipping for customers spending $50.00 or more per order or for those who purchase a minimum of four pounds of coffee.  Unlike other sites, we have not built in a couple of dollars a pound to give it back to you in free shipping.  We will deal with you fair and square.

With our new emphasis on Fair Trade and organic coffee, we owe it to you to bring you a wide range of information on why these products are better for you, your family and your planet.  We will share our growing knowledge of Fair Trade and organic coffees with you, and do our best to provide as large a selection of these coffees as possible.  We will give back to the international coffee community and allow our customers to do the same by choosing which coffee they order.  In the future we will increase our selection of Fair Trade and organic products and promote other environmentally conscious options, such as packaging made from recycled paper. 

As our customer's appetites increase purchases of these beans, we will provide larger selections of Fair Trade and organic coffees.  We will sell these coffees at lower rates when possible.  We will also go a step further and donate 10¢ per pound sold to Fair Trade organizations around the globe.  This contribution directly supports farmers, helping them maintain their commitment to your health through sustainable growing environments. 

Our final goal is a work in progress - we will develop our site, now and as we grow, with people in mind.  Too much electronic commerce creates a cold, drab world.  We want to warm your hearts with a site for people about people, to truly warm your cup.
